Background

DOT PROJECT is working towards a future where people flourish through the use of technology. They work at the intersection between civil society and technology, passionately increasing confidence and capacity of people who are working to solve complex social issues.

Situation

As part of their ongoing work with their clients, DOT PROJECT gathers research to understand the ways in which people and organisations connect, communicate and collaborate.

They required a better, more robust approach to the management of their research data, including ways in which to make the data accessible to and maintainable by their partners.

What I delivered

I undertook a requirements gathering phase and went on to select an appropriate cloud data management platform - one that gave them the centralised data integrity that they needed and a user interface that made data management accessible to anyone familiar with how to use a spreadsheet.

Following the development of an extensible data model, I implemented the data platform and provided advanced visualisation capability through the use of an automated data interface to both Microsoft PowerBI and Kumu, a tool that provides visualisations of connected networks.
